Product Overview

The HDPE Threaded Adapter Fitting joins an HDPE socket fusion body to a screw thread, so a polyethylene pipeline can be screwed directly onto pumps, valves, filters and equipment that have a threaded port. Supplying the threaded end as part of the fitting - instead of adding a separate adapter on site - keeps the joint short, keeps the number of possible leak points low, and lets the HDPE Threaded Adapter Fitting make a clean transition from a welded PE line to metal equipment.

Every HDPE Threaded Adapter Fitting is produced in PE100 grade material and covers pipe sizes from OD20 mm up to OD110 mm, with thread sizes from 1/2 inch to 4 inch in both male and female versions. The range includes threaded couplings, threaded elbows and threaded tees, all rated PN16 or PN10 and manufactured in line with ISO 4427 / EN 12201 requirements for PE piping systems.

Production

Raw Material

Every HDPE Threaded Adapter Fitting starts from virgin PE100 grade HDPE compound. Using virgin PE100 stock - instead of regrind - keeps the mechanical strength and slow crack growth resistance of the HDPE Threaded Adapter Fitting consistent with the connected pipe.

Molding Process

The body is moulded and the thread end is finished to the required thread standard, so the HDPE Threaded Adapter Fitting keeps accurate thread dimensions together with the correct socket fusion geometry on the pipe side. Socket fusion is used to join the fitting to pipe of 20 mm through 110 mm.

Quality Control
