Product Overview

The PPR hot water pipe is extruded from virgin polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R) compound, engineered for pressurized hot water distribution in residential, commercial and industrial plumbing systems. The S4 (PN 1.6 MPa) and S2.5 (PN 2.5 MPa) series pipes are white colored for hot water identification and are rated for continuous hot water service up to 70°C. Available from DN 20 mm to DN 160 mm with 4 meter straight lengths, the PPR hot water pipe is the standard choice for hot and cold water supply lines where temperature resistance and long service life are required.

Key Features

  • High Temperature Resistance: The PPR hot water pipe is rated for continuous hot water service up to 70°C and short term operation up to 95°C, making it suitable for both domestic hot water and heating return lines.
  • Hygienic and Non-toxic: The food contact grade PP-R compound of the PPR hot water pipe does not leach chemicals into the hot water, keeping the water supply safe for bathing, cooking and cleaning.
  • Corrosion and Scale Free: The PPR hot water pipe never rusts or scales internally, so the bore stays smooth and hot water flow capacity is maintained even after years of high temperature operation.
  • Heat Fusion Joints: Socket fusion joints create a monolithic PPR hot water pipe system with strength equal to the pipe body itself, eliminating leak points that threaded or glued joints develop under thermal cycling.
  • Low Thermal Conductivity: PP-R has low thermal conductivity, so the PPR hot water pipe retains heat in the line, reducing energy loss and the need for heavy insulation compared with metal pipe.
  • Long Service Life: Under normal hot water operating conditions the PPR hot water pipe delivers a service life of more than 50 years, far exceeding copper and galvanized steel alternatives.

Production

Raw Material

The PPR hot water pipe is extruded from virgin PP-R random copolymer compound certified for potable water contact and rated for hot water service, with the resin lot recorded for full traceability from pellet to finished pipe.

Molding Process

Each PPR hot water pipe is extruded on a single screw line with a precision die, then vacuum calibrated and spray cooled so outer diameter and wall thickness stay within GB/T 18742 tolerances. White masterbatch is added in the same pass for hot water color identification, and the pipe surface is ink jet marked with size, series, standard and batch code.

Quality Control

Every batch of the PPR hot water pipe is tested for melt flow rate, density, outer diameter, wall thickness, ovality, hydrostatic pressure at elevated temperature and thermal stability before release; each pipe carries a batch code traceable to the raw resin lot.

Applications

  • Residential hot water supply systems use the PPR hot water pipe to deliver hot water from the water heater to every fixture in the home.
  • Commercial building hot water plumbing relies on the PPR hot water pipe for hotels, hospitals and schools where reliable high temperature piping is essential.
  • Underfloor heating systems install the PPR hot water pipe as the distribution manifold to heating loops because the pipe handles continuous hot water circulation without degradation.
  • Solar hot water systems use the PPR hot water pipe to connect solar collectors to the storage tank, where the pipe handles both high temperature and pressure cycling.
  • Industrial hot water and process water lines choose the PPR hot water pipe for laundries, kitchens and manufacturing where hot water is distributed under pressure.
