Product Overview

The HDPE geomembrane from Bingo Pipeline is a black high-density polyethylene liner made from virgin resin with 2.0 - 3.0% carbon black for UV stability. Its density of 0.940 g/cm³ and 500-hour stress cracking resistance make the HDPE geomembrane suitable for long-term containment of water, leachate and waste.

Available from 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm in smooth or textured finish, the HDPE geomembrane is supplied in rolls up to 6 m wide and 200 m long to minimise field seams. Typical tensile yield strength ranges from 15 kN/m at 1.0 mm to 29 kN/m at 2.0 mm.

Key Features

  • Excellent chemical resistance: the HDPE geomembrane resists leachate, acid, alkali and hydrocarbons, which is why it lines landfills and chemical ponds.
  • High elongation: break elongation above 700 % lets the HDPE geomembrane accommodate settlement and subgrade movement without tearing.
  • UV stabilised: 2.0 - 3.0 % well-dispersed carbon black protects the HDPE geomembrane during exposure and installation.
  • Smooth or textured surface: the textured HDPE geomembrane gives a friction angle of 16 mil asperity for steep slope lining.
  • Reliable seaming: the HDPE geomembrane is welded by hot wedge or extrusion welder, producing homogeneous seams that pass air-lance and vacuum tests.
  • Long service life: 500-hour stress cracking resistance keeps the HDPE geomembrane intact in permanent containment works.

Production

Raw Material

The HDPE geomembrane is produced from virgin high-density polyethylene resin with carbon black masterbatch and antioxidants. No reclaimed material is used, so every roll of HDPE geomembrane keeps the declared density and stress crack performance.

Production Process

Resin is extruded through a flat die, calendared and cooled to the specified thickness. Thickness, width and surface texture of the HDPE geomembrane are monitored in line, and the roll is trimmed and wound to the ordered length.

Quality Control

Samples of each HDPE geomembrane batch are tested for density, tensile yield and break, tear resistance, carbon black content and dispersion, and stress cracking. Seam trials are run before shipment so the HDPE geomembrane arrives ready for field welding.

Applications

  • Landfill and waste containment: the HDPE geomembrane forms the primary barrier under municipal and hazardous waste.
  • Fish pond and reservoir lining: the HDPE geomembrane prevents seepage in aquaculture and water storage.
  • Mining heap leach and tailings: the HDPE geomembrane contains process solutions on mine sites.
  • Artificial lake and canal: the HDPE geomembrane lines landscape lakes, canals and irrigation reservoirs.
  • Biogas and sewage lagoon: the HDPE geomembrane covers or lines digesters and wastewater lagoons.
