Product Overview

The HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow is a butt-fusion direction change fitting built from thick-wall PE100 stock, used to turn a high pressure HDPE line through 90 degrees or 45 degrees without the weight and corrosion of a steel bend. Every HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow from Bingo Pipeline is produced to the ISO 4427 / EN 12201 and DIN 16963 dimensional system, so it welds straight onto standard HDPE pipe with a matching pressure class.

Because these elbows are made without mould-size limits, the HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow covers a very wide range: standard butt fusion sizes run from OD63 mm up to OD800 mm, and pressure classes above PN16 - up to PN20 and PN25 for heavy-wall service - are machined to order on a CNC lathe. The thick wall of the HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow makes it the preferred direction change on water transmission mains, dredging and slurry lines and high pressure fire water networks.

Production

Raw Material

Every HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow starts from virgin PE100 grade HDPE compound. Using virgin PE100 stock - instead of regrind - keeps the mechanical strength and slow crack growth resistance of the HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow consistent with the connected pipe.

Molding Process

The thicker-wall elbow is formed and its fusion ends are accurately machined to the required wall and diameter; the very heavy high pressure grades are CNC lathe machined from solid stock, a technology derived from the United States. This gives the HDPE Custom High Pressure Elbow a dense, one-piece body with no weak point at the bend, and the ends are ready for standard butt fusion.

Quality Control

Each elbow is checked for outside diameter, wall thickness, angle and centre height before dispatch. Dimensional performance follows ISO 4427 requirements, and dimensional records are kept for traceability.
