Product Overview

The HDPE electro fusion double sealing 45° elbow offsets a PE100 water main by 45 degrees through two electro fusion sockets with a dual sealing design. Gentler than a right angle fitting, the 45° bend keeps flow resistance low at the turn while still redirecting the pipe run around obstacles or aligning with a sloped main. The heating coils are moulded into both socket walls and energized by a standard electro fusion control unit, so the offset becomes a monolithic PE100 junction with the same pressure rating as the pipe on either side. Available from DN 50 to DN 315 mm with PN10 to PN16 ratings, the HDPE electro fusion 45° elbow is the standard choice for buried potable water networks where a low resistance change of direction is required.

Key Features

  • Dual Sealing Sockets: Both ends of the HDPE electro fusion 45° elbow use a double seal design in the socket, so even if one seal is scratched during assembly the joint stays leak tight under pressure.
  • Low Flow Resistance: The 45° bend angle produces less head loss than a 90° fitting, so the HDPE electro fusion elbow keeps water velocity high and pumping cost down at the turn.
  • One Piece Moulded Body: The 45° elbow is injection moulded as a single body, so there is no welded seam at the bend and the offset carries full pipe pressure without a weak point.
  • True 45° Geometry: The bend angle is held to 45° during moulding, so the HDPE electro fusion elbow aligns the offset pipe run without springback or stress that would load the fused joints.
  • No Metal Insert: The electro fusion 45° elbow keeps polyethylene in the water path, so there is no corrosion or galvanic risk at the offset where flow direction changes.
  • Maintenance Free: The fused joints are permanent, so the HDPE electro fusion 45° elbow needs no bolts or gaskets to inspect at the bend, lowering lifetime operating cost.

Production

Raw Material

The HDPE electro fusion 45° elbow is moulded from virgin PE100 compound rated MRS 10.0 per ISO 4427-3, with the resin lot recorded for full traceability from pellet to fitting.

Molding Process

Each electro fusion 45° elbow is injection moulded in one shot with both resistance coils pre positioned in the 45° socket walls; the bend radius and socket bores are held to ISO 4427-3 dimensions, and the coil terminals are moulded flush so the control unit plug seats without gap.

Quality Control

Every batch of HDPE electro fusion 45° elbows is gauged for socket diameter, ovality, coil resistance and bend angle, then sample welded and pressure tested to 1.5 times rated pressure before release; each fitting carries a batch code traceable to the raw resin lot.

Applications

  • Obstacle offset runs in buried potable water mains use the HDPE electro fusion 45° elbow to shift the pipe run around existing utilities or foundations without a sharp right angle that would raise head loss.
  • Sloped drainage connections install the electro fusion 45° elbow where a gravity line meets the horizontal main, because the gentle bend keeps flow smooth and avoids sediment settling at the turn.
  • Angled branch takeoffs use the HDPE electro fusion 45° elbow in place of a wye, because the double sealed socket gives a leak tight junction without a mechanical saddle or bolted fitting.
  • Water treatment plant pipe galleries route the electro fusion 45° elbow at every gentle change of direction, where the low resistance bend and double sealed sockets keep the system efficient under pressure cycling.
