Product Overview

The geotextile sand bag from Bingo Pipeline is a sand-filled container made of PET or PP thermo-calendered nonwoven fabric. With 1600 N CBR puncture resistance and 9 - 16 kN/m tensile strength, the geotextile sand bag withstands wave impact and abrasion while allowing water to drain through the fabric.

Standard bag sizes are 1.03 x 0.7 m and 1.03 x 0.6 m in 200 g/m² or 300 g/m² fabric, and the geotextile sand bag can be supplied in custom dimensions and colours for specific coastal or riverbank layouts.

Key Features

  • High puncture resistance: 1600 N CBR puncture strength keeps the geotextile sand bag intact when filled with angular sand or gravel.
  • Permeable fabric: the nonwoven of the geotextile sand bag drains water quickly while retaining the fill, reducing hydrostatic pressure behind the structure.
  • UV and rot resistant: the stabilised PET or PP fabric lets the geotextile sand bag stay exposed on beaches and riverbanks for years.
  • Flexible installation: empty geotextile sand bag units are light and can be filled and placed on site with simple equipment.
  • Interlocking stack: the flat filled shape of the geotextile sand bag creates a stable, interlocking revetment with high friction between layers.
  • Custom sizes: the geotextile sand bag can be produced in different dimensions, fabric weights and colours to suit each project.

Production

Raw Material

The geotextile sand bag is made from thermo-calendered PET or PP nonwoven with high grab and puncture strength. Fabric weight and fibre blend are fixed per order so the geotextile sand bag meets its declared tensile and CBR values.

Production Process

Fabric is cut, folded and stitched into the bag shape, with reinforced seams along the filling edge. Each geotextile sand bag is inspected for seam strength and stitch density before packing.

Quality Control

Fabric rolls for the geotextile sand bag are tested for mass, tensile strength, elongation, tear and CBR puncture. Finished bags are checked for dimensions, seam integrity and colour consistency before shipment.

Applications

  • Coastal and beach protection: the geotextile sand bag builds dunes, groynes and seawall cores.
  • River and canal bank protection: the geotextile sand bag armours erodible banks against scour.
  • Flood control and emergency dyke: the geotextile sand bag is filled on site for rapid flood barriers.
  • Slope and embankment stabilisation: the geotextile sand bag forms vegetated retaining structures.
  • Landscaping and artificial reef: the geotextile sand bag shapes green roofs, planters and marine habitat units.
