Product Overview

The HDPE electro fusion double sealing stub end terminates a PE100 pipeline with a flanged connection. One end is fused to the pipe through a double sealed electro fusion socket, while the plain stub face is ready for a backing ring and gasket so the HDPE line can be bolted to pumps, valves or steel pipework without giving up the flexibility of the polyethylene run. Available from DN 50 to DN 315 mm with PN10 to PN25 ratings, the HDPE electro fusion stub end is the standard choice for pump rooms and valve chambers where a buried HDPE main has to meet metallic equipment.

Production

Raw Material

The HDPE electro fusion stub end is moulded from virgin PE100 compound rated MRS 10.0 per ISO 4427-3, with the resin lot documented for traceability.

Molding Process

Each electro fusion stub end is injection moulded in one shot with the resistance wire pre positioned in the socket wall; the plain stub face is machined after moulding so the sealing surface stays flat and parallel to the flange, and the backing ring register is held to the mating flange standard.

Quality Control

Every batch of HDPE electro fusion stub ends is gauged for socket diameter, ovality and coil resistance, then sample welded and pressure tested before release; each fitting carries a batch code traceable to the raw resin lot.
