Product Overview

The PPR cold water pipe is extruded from virgin polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R) compound, engineered for pressurized cold water distribution in residential, commercial and industrial plumbing systems. The S5 series PN 1.25 MPa pipe is green colored for cold water identification and delivers reliable long term performance with smooth internal walls that keep flow resistance low. Available from DN 20 mm to DN 75 mm with 4 meter straight lengths or coils for small diameters, the PPR cold water pipe is the standard choice for cold water supply lines where hygiene and corrosion resistance are required.

Key Features

  • Hygienic and Non-toxic: The PPR cold water pipe is made from food contact grade PP-R compound that does not leach chemicals into the water, keeping the cold water supply safe and clean for domestic and commercial use.
  • Corrosion and Scale Free: Unlike galvanized steel or copper pipes, the PPR cold water pipe never rusts or scales internally, so the bore stays smooth and water flow capacity is maintained over the whole service life.
  • Low Flow Resistance: The smooth inner wall of the PPR cold water pipe reduces friction loss, keeping pumping energy low and ensuring consistent cold water pressure at every tap.
  • Heat Fusion Joints: Socket fusion joints create a monolithic PPR cold water pipe system with strength equal to the pipe body itself, eliminating leak points that threaded or glued joints can develop.
  • Excellent Chemical Resistance: PP-R resists most household chemicals and sanitizers commonly found in cold water systems, so the PPR cold water pipe handles treated water without degradation.
  • Long Service Life: Under normal cold water operating conditions the PPR cold water pipe delivers a service life of more than 50 years, far exceeding metal piping alternatives.

Production

Raw Material

The PPR cold water pipe is extruded from virgin PP-R random copolymer compound certified for potable water contact, with the resin lot recorded for full traceability from pellet to finished pipe.

Molding Process

Each PPR cold water pipe is extruded on a single screw line with a precision die, then vacuum calibrated and spray cooled so outer diameter and wall thickness stay within GB/T 18742 tolerances. Green masterbatch is added in the same pass for cold water color identification, and the pipe surface is ink jet marked with size, SDR, standard and batch code.

Quality Control

Every batch of the PPR cold water pipe is tested for melt flow rate, density, outer diameter, wall thickness, ovality and hydrostatic pressure at 1.5 times rated pressure before release; each pipe carries a batch code traceable to the raw resin lot.

Applications

  • Residential cold water supply systems use the PPR cold water pipe to distribute cold water from the municipal inlet to every fixture in the home.
  • Commercial building cold water plumbing relies on the PPR cold water pipe for offices, hotels and hospitals where hygienic, maintenance free piping is essential.
  • School and public facility cold water networks install the PPR cold water pipe because the corrosion free bore prevents the discoloration and taste issues that metal pipes develop.
  • Industrial process cold water lines choose the PPR cold water pipe for cooling water and rinsing water where chemical resistance and low flow resistance are required.
  • Renovation and retrofit projects replace aging galvanized cold water lines with the PPR cold water pipe to eliminate rust and restore consistent water pressure.
