Product Overview

The HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee is a 45 degree lateral tee - also called a Y-branch or 45 degree tee - that branches a main HDPE line at a shallow angle instead of a right angle. The shallow branch keeps flow resistance low and allows a service or secondary line to be taken off a main run while the media keeps moving in much the same direction, which is why the HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee is widely used on water mains, drainage and industrial pipeline networks.

Every HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee from Bingo Pipeline is produced in PE100 grade material to the ISO 4427 / EN 12201 and DIN 16963 dimensional system, with branch geometry machined to the standard centre-to-end dimensions so the fitting lines up correctly during butt fusion. The range covers OD90 mm through OD1600 mm, and heavy-wall high pressure grades - up to PN20 and PN25 - as well as other branch angles are machined to order, so the HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee is not limited by mould size.

Production

Raw Material

Every HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee starts from virgin PE100 grade HDPE compound. Using virgin PE100 stock - instead of regrind - keeps the mechanical strength and slow crack growth resistance of the HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee consistent with the connected pipe.

Molding Process

The Y-branch is fabricated from HDPE pipe segments so that the branch leaves the main run at 45 degrees, and the fusion ends are accurately machined to the required wall and diameter. As a fabricated and CNC finished part, the HDPE Custom Y-Branch Tee is produced to meet a specific routing, and the ends are ready for standard butt fusion.

Quality Control

Each Y-branch tee is checked for outside diameter, wall thickness, branch angle and overall length before dispatch. Dimensional performance follows ISO 4427 requirements, and dimensional records are kept for traceability.
